Unrolled Cabbage Rolls

You can find cabbage at nearly every grocery store, and it is also a popular vegetable to grow in a garden. It has high fiber and water content, making it a filling addition to meals. A half head of red cabbage contains about 400% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C, as well as vitamins and minerals that support a healthy heart, digestive system and strong bones.

Ingredients:

2 lbs. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 head cabbage, chopped
2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
½ cup water
2 tsp. garlic, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper

Directions:

1.Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ground beef and onion,
until browned, stirring frequently.
2.Add cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, garlic, salt and pepper
and bring to boil. Cover skillet and reduce heat.
3.Simmer until cabbage is tender.
4.Serve warm.
